Craig Heyward currently owns and operates a holding company focused on investments in early stage technology companies, real estate and finance/equipment leasing.
In 2000, Craig founded Discrete Wireless, Inc. which was a high-growth SaaS solution leader in the mobile resource management industry based in Atlanta, GA. The company’s core business offering was a GPS wireless logistics application with productivity enhancing tools providing over 6,000 business customers the ability to track, monitor, route and locate vehicles through the Internet by utilizing proprietary integrated wireless data, GPS and internet technologies. The Company’s international footprint included all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. The Company was sold to Francisco Partners, a leading global technology private equity firm headquartered in San Francisco, resulting in a very successful exit for investors.
Before founding Discrete Wireless, Craig was a Board Member and Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets at Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange Member firm headquartered in Birmingham, AL (Sterne Agee was acquired by Stifel Financial Corp. in June 2015). Craig had management responsibilities for the company’s Investment Banking, Equity Syndicate, Institutional Sales and Equity Research departments.
Prior to Sterne, Agee, Craig held Investment Banking positions at Capital Investment Partners in Raleigh, NC and Deutsche Bank Securities in New York, NY. He also held a Management Consulting position at Bain & Company in their Milan, Italy office earlier in his career.
Craig received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and his Master of International Business Studies (MIBS) from the University of South Carolina.
